New IPAC course!

Public Health Ontario has released a new course on Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) for health care workers! This interactive course was developed with a wide range of feedback and is aligned with recommendations from the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee. It’s designed to better support the evolving needs of health care workers and organizations seeking education on IPAC. It replaces the former IPAC Core Competencies course. Updated IPAC resource

Public Health Ontario recently revised the Routine Practices and Additional Precautions In All Health Care Settings (3rd edition) to include an updated Appendix N: Clinical Syndromes/Conditions with Required Level of Precautions. What’s New? Appendix N has been reformatted to make it easier to use. It provides a clear table outlining the minimum required precautions for a wide range of diseases and conditions. Council approved updates to the Standard of Practice: Delegation and the Standards of Practice for Dental Hygiene Educators to eliminate outdated information (i.e., references to self-initiation) and language. These updates ensure RDHs have accurate guidance to support safe and effective practice.

2025 Renewal Process

The renewal period begins on October 15, 2025, and RDHs have until December 1 to complete the form and pay the annual fee. Learn more about renewal.
