Council Elections and Academic Selection Coming this Fall!
This November, RDHs in Districts 2 and 3 will participate in elections to Council. CDHO will also be seeking nominations for two Academic Council members. CDHO’s Council, similar to a Board of Directors, sets the College’s strategic and policy direction, and makes decisions that protect and promote the public interest. In September, CDHO will issue a call for nominations, inviting eligible RDHs to stand for election. If you primarily practise in Districts 2 or 3 (or live there if you are not currently practising), or if you are engaged in full-time instruction or administration in an accredited educational institution in Ontario that is authorized…
Ask the Advisor: Incorporating your Dental Hygiene Practice
Registered Dental Hygienists can practise Dental Hygiene through a special type of corporation known as a Professional Corporation. You must first incorporate your business and register it with the Ontario Government and then apply for a Certificate of Authorization from CDHO for your Corporation. When applying for a Certificate of Authorization, there are a few important things to keep in mind: All directors and shareholders must be RDHs in good standing with CDHO and hold a General or Specialty Class registration.
