As a part of its mandate to protect the public interest, CDHO needs to develop or change regulations, bylaws, policies, Standards of Practice, and other practice resources. Gathering feedback and comments from the public, Registered Dental Hygienists, professional associations, educators and others helps CDHO understand the impact of the proposed changes. This process is called a consultation. Before adopting any new changes, CDHO carefully considers the comments and feedback it receives.
