CDHO protects the public’s right to quality Dental Hygiene care. One of the ways we do this is through the Quality Assurance (QA) Program, which supports the continuous professional development of Registered Dental Hygienists (RDHs) through communities of practice, collaborative conversations, professional self-assessment, and risk identification and management. The QA Program supports the continuing competence of all RDHs. 

All RDHs participate in QA and the variety of available tools and resources allows them to customize their continuing competence activities according to their unique needs. The QA Program consists of three components:

1. Self-Assessment
2. Continuing Professional Development
3. Peer and Practice Assessment and Peer Circles
