This November, RDHs in Districts 1, 5 and 6 will participate in elections to Council. CDHO’s Council, similar to a board of directors, sets CDHO’s strategic and policy direction, and makes decisions that protect and promote the public interest.
In September, CDHO will put out a call for nominations in these Districts, asking RDHs to put their name forward to stand for election. If you primarily practise in one of these districts (or reside there, if not practising), please consider putting your name forward for an exciting opportunity to participate in the regulation of your profession!
| District 1 (One position) | Bruce, Grey, Elgin, Essex, Huron, Kent, Lambton, Middlesex, Oxford and Perth counties. |
| District 5 (One position) | Frontenac, Peterborough, Hastings, Lanark, Lennox and Addington, Prince Edward, Victoria, Haliburton, Northumberland Counties and the regional municipality of Durham. |
| District 6 (One position) | Dundas, Glengarry, Leeds and Grenville, Prescott and Russell, Renfrew and Stormont Counties and the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. |
If elected, you will serve a three-year term starting in January 2026 and ending in December 2028. Although elected by your peers, Council members act in the public’s interest. You will attend four, two-day meetings per year, which can be virtual or in-person (in Toronto). You will also be asked to sit on at least one committee and may have the opportunity to sit on other committees or working groups. CDHO pays a per diem for attending Council and committee meetings, and covers any travel and accommodation expenses if attending in-person meetings.
If you’re an RDH in one of these districts, keep an eye on your inbox this September for more information on how to submit a nomination! The nomination form is due by October 20, 2025, and the election will take place on November 19, 2025.
