Registrar’s Message

Hi everyone! I hope 2026 is off to a wonderful – albeit chilly – start!

We’re starting to receive excellent data on the longer-term impacts of Peer Circles, which we’ve included in this edition of The De-Brief. The data is very encouraging! We’re seeing that Path 4 participants are leaving the process with practical takeaways that can be implemented in practice and that help improve client outcomes. We’ll continue using this data to refine our overall approach to Quality Assurance, making sure that the program is as relevant and supportive as possible. I want to thank everyone who’s been involved in this process from the beginning, and RDHs for being open to the idea of Peer Circles. We plan to offer more optional sessions this year, and I encourage RDHs to attend to see what they’re all about!

You might remember that in the December De-Brief we mentioned that we’d be launching a Registrant Engagement Survey. We ran a similar survey in 2023, which provided us with valuable information on some of our processes (e.g., renewal and QA) and trends in the profession. We are finalizing that survey for release very soon, and we’re adding a few new questions to get feedback from the profession on things like our communications, the new elements of the QA Program and our Practice Advisory Service. Keep an eye on your inbox for more information and I encourage you to complete it! The data helps us better understand supports that clients and the profession may need.

I’m looking forward to working with all of you this year as we continue our progress on several initiatives. As always, my thanks to RDHs for their ongoing dedication to the oral and overall health of Ontarians. Wishing you all a healthy, productive and rewarding year ahead!
