Hi everyone! Happy fall! I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer.

One of the things I appreciate most about our profession is the willingness of Registered Dental Hygienists to share their perspectives and help shape the future of the profession. Over the past year, many of you have taken the time to participate in surveys and provide thoughtful feedback and comments.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who completed our Scope of Practice Readiness Survey. To date, we have received nearly 7,600 responses, an impressive response rate! If you haven’t completed it yet, please check your email as the survey is still open. As discussions continue about potential enhancements to the Scope of Practice, this information will help us better plan for capacity related to any additional training that may be required. As a reminder, there are no changes to the Scope of Practice currently, and we continue to work with Ontario Government on next steps. We will keep you updated on this work.

We are also pleased to share the results of our 2026 Registrant Engagement Survey. We first launched this survey in 2023, and it is conducted every three years. It provides insights into your experiences and perceptions around the QA Program, renewal, communications, and resources like the Standards of Practice. We also ask about some of the workplace realities that RDHs face and emerging issues, like Artificial Intelligence. Thank you to everyone who completed the 2026 survey! This data helps us improve our processes and the supports we provide to RDHs.
