Hi everyone! I hope you’re enjoying the summer and staying cool!
I’d like to start off by thanking the 228 RDHs who volunteered for assessment in 2026. We continue to be amazed by the overwhelming response we receive to various requests around the QA Program. While there is more work to be done, we’ve come a long way in modernizing the Program so that it’s more supportive and collaborative. We couldn’t have done this without the profession’s readiness for change in this area, so thank you for your continued trust in us as we continue this work!
Good regulation is not something that we do alone. We’re keenly aware that our ability to protect the public interest depends on a collaborative relationship with RDHs. When we support RDHs with relevant guidance and evidence-informed programs that promote safe and ethical practice, this leads to better outcomes for clients. When RDHs take part in regulatory initiatives—whether it’s volunteering for assessment, responding to requests for feedback or participating in a focus group—we are better positioned to respond to needs from the profession, which helps improve the delivery of Dental Hygiene services.
Collaborative regulation is the way of the future. I continue to be grateful to Registered Dental Hygienists for their perspectives and willingness to move the profession forward. And as always, my thanks to each of you for your dedication to improving the oral and general health of Ontarians.
Wishing you a great rest of the summer!
