Public Health Ontario recently revised the Routine Practices and Additional Precautions In All Health Care Settings (3rd edition) to include an updated Appendix N: Clinical Syndromes/Conditions with Required Level of Precautions.
What’s New?
Appendix N has been reformatted to make it easier to use. It provides a clear table outlining the minimum required precautions for a wide range of diseases and conditions.
Please note: While this table is a helpful reference, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures should always be guided by a point-of-care risk assessment (PCRA) before every client interaction. The PCRA can also be found on page 9 of CDHO’s IPAC Guidelines.
