Since 2022, CDHO, with the extensive involvement of RDHs, has been developing Peer Circles as a new professional development opportunity. Peer Circles are peer-facilitated group discussions using hypothetical cases. Facilitators guide a group of 8–10 participants through the discussion of cases that highlight challenging and relevant practice issues.

Thanks to the huge interest we’ve seen in optional Peer Circles and to help get ready for more optional Peer Circles in 2024 and 2025, we’re looking for an additional 20 RDHs to become facilitators!

Experience as a facilitator is not necessary. We will work with selected participants to develop the skills needed to be an effective facilitator.

For those who are interested, there are a few requirements. First and foremost are enthusiasm and commitment! In addition, we need you to:

• Be registered and in good standing with CDHO (i.e., no outstanding fees, not currently under investigation or participating in the Discipline process).
• Be actively practising Dental Hygiene in Ontario.
• Be able to attend the training workshop in Toronto on May 30^th and 31^st. CDHO will pay an honorarium for attending, and cover travel expenses and accommodations.
• Attend a few online training sessions throughout summer 2024.
• Be able to travel and facilitate in-person Peer Circles events in September and October, and online Peer Circles throughout 2024 and 2025.

Note: Current CDHO Council or Committee members or RDHs who currently serve as Quality Assurance peer assessors cannot serve as facilitators at this time.

The survey will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. We will reach out to selected participants by email within a week of the survey closing.
