In September 2023, CDHO’s Council launched a third-party review of its processes, systems and governance conduct. The review was led by Harry Cayton and Deanna Williams, two internationally renowned experts in governance effectiveness. The review examined Canadian and international trends in regulatory governance modernization and included interviews with Council members and CDHO’s senior staff.

Harry Cayton and Deanna Williams presented their report at the March 8, 2024 Council meeting. A Report and Recommendations on Improving Governance is available online. In keeping with its commitment to continuous governance improvement, Council is pleased to carefully consider all recommendations as CDHO continues to modernize its approach to health profession regulation in the public interest.
